Indivisible Door County has created two Task Forces (as of now) to develop information, plan action campaigns (talks/seminars, Letters to the Editor, demonstrations, etc.) around two critical issues affecting Door County and Wisconsin in 2019 and 2020:
Taxation: We will be looking at issues and concepts such as what are fair and appropriate tax rates, how do we finance the common good (education, clean air & water, infrastructure, the courts and so on), what is a wealth tax and is it a good idea, is a 70% marginal tax rate “radical” and more.
The first meeting of this group will be on Tuesday Feb. 5 at 1:15 PMat the Sister Bay Library. All are welcome.
Redistricting and Gerrymandering: We will be looking at how the political district maps are currently drawn, how they will be drawn for 2020, the status of the Law Suit at the Supreme Court, the role of citizens in affecting the drawing of new district boundaries, etc.
The first meeting of this group will be on Thursday Feb. 7 at 1:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County (UUFDC) in Ephraim 10341 Water St (The Green Gables Complex). All are welcome.
